You heard it! We’re giving away a 3-day live streaming ticket to watch WordCamp San Francisco 2011 live starting today at 9 AM (San Francisco time, PDT)! We’ve only got one ticket, so who’s gonna be the lucky winner? The rules are quite simple.
To enter the competition, all you have to do is:
- Follow Theme.fm on Twitter
- Tweet this post to your followers and hash tag it with #wcsf
- Post a link to your tweet in the comments section below and tell us why you couldn’t make it to the conference.
Before the conference starts (at around 8 AM) we’ll randomly pick a winner and send you your live streaming info via e-mail, so make sure you use the right e-mail address when commenting.
The winner will be announced as an update to this blog post and of course via our Twitter account as well, so keep an eye on that. There are no restrictions for participation, except of course if you’re unable to spend the coming three days (or nights for somebody) watching the live stream, like busy with work or something ;) why would you want the ticket in that case anyway, right?
I’ll go first as an example of what kind of comments we’re looking for, and don’t worry, I’ve already got my own live streaming ticket.
I could not make it to WordCamp because I’m based in Moscow and when I found out I had a good chance to speak in SF it was too late to apply for a US visa. Bummer! (link to tweet)
Your turn to speak!
Update: We’ve Got a Winner!
And the winner is … David Decker:
Win a 3-day lifestream ticket for WordCamp San Francisco via @themefm http://ow.ly/61uZ3 #wcsf #wordpress
@deckerweb
Congratulations David, you’ve got yourself a 3-day live stream ticket to WordCamp San Francisco 2011! We’ll send you the access details by e-mail and hope you enjoy the show!
For the rest of you don’t worry, all the videos will be up and running on WordPress.tv in a couple of weeks but meanwhile you can still follow all the tweets and pics (and maybe videos too!) on Twitter by tuning in to the #wcsf hashtag and of course following @themefm.
But that’s not all, we really loved Shawn’s “excuse”:
As much as I wanted to go, the wife demands that paying the rent is more important than flying out to wordcamp. Either need to train her better or trade her in. She seriously needs to watch some inspiring wp speakers to understand her place. Tried bribing her with breakfast in bed so I could spend the money on the feed, but cheerios didn’t count in her mind
SHHHH this is between me n u ok?
But unfortunately we had only one live stream ticket, so Shawn will get an awesome Theme.fm T-shirt! Congratulations Shawn and hopefully your wife will enjoy the show next year ;)
Thank you all for your support, we really appreciate all the tweets and retweets. And don’t worry, there are many WordCamps ahead, of course not as large but still cool enough to visit/watch, right? ;) Have a great weekend everybody!

I could not make it to WordCamp SF because I live in Tbilisi and it’s really hard to get US visa. #fail :/ http://twitter.com/Mamaduka/status/101963636892901376
Hi there! Nice contest, hehe :) Couldn’t make it to SF too – so I love to see your covering/contest here! :-) My own tweet of your post is: http://twitter.com/#!/deckerweb/status/101964951912054784 — and my RT from your’s is: http://twitter.com/#!/themefm/status/101956236513251328
-Thanx, Dave from Germany :)
Congratulations sir!
I couldn’t make it because I just learned about it yesterday and I live in Copenhagen. Although I am really interested in the whole thing, I hope the presentations will be uploaded somewhere, even if I don’t win that virtual ticket =)

Tony, we certainly are! Besides, I haven’t been coding Python for more than 3 weeks now, so needed the practice ha! :) Cheers and thanks for the comment!
I thought that Python random draw was quite sweet and funky ;)
Thanks Gennady :)
